MATH AND SCIENCE IN ENGLISH

The implementation of English in mathematics and science, the students and were facing language problems and contents problem. This is because most of the students are not yet influenced by English totally in their life. So, by having math and science in English, it is something new to them to comprehend with. This is because; the students got less focus on English by their teacher. They learn English only in English class that most probably runs two times in a week which is not enough as also; the students only learn what is happened to be in the syllabus and no more than that.
This kind of effects can be a problem for the school and also in Malaysian education system. In facing this problem, the students need more attention from the teachers. However the same problems also occurred to the teacher trainees regarding to the use of English in daily life and in classroom. Thus is because, the teacher trainees have poor command in English and also lack of confidence in handling the activities in the class in front of the students.

As for the ministry of education, the implementation of English in Math and Science became quite a problem for them at the beginning as new textbooks need to be find to suit the government idea and to make the dream of increasing Malaysian level of education come true. All of the recent textbooks can no longer be use and a lot of money need to be spend in order to fulfill the aim and the target of improving the language acquisition of the students and also to solve the problem of Limited English Proficiency (LEP) among the students. It can also be considerate as an early preparation for the students to go to the next level of education whether they go oversea or even staying in Malaysia, one day what they have learned today will be useful in the future.

Somehow, the implementations of English in two major subjects in school also give good effects to the students and to the country after the system had been stabilized. For some reason, using English in math and science somehow improved the students in their English for something new and something more interesting for them to learn. Previously, we can see that every subject in the classroom used Malay as the medium of instruction, and yes it is easier for the new generation to learn for their elders about math and science as the terms an the words use in the subject can be taught directly without no changes but have we ever taught that before Malay become the medium of instruction in classroom, English was the first language that was used? Now we can see that even the earlier generation used English in learning, and why not our new generation also uses it? Even some of the parents that had been through that stage of learning didn’t know the Malay terms that is use in Mathematics and Science as they learned it in English.

Even though we cannot see the effects of applying Mathematic and Science in English just yet, but as soon as the implementation of it reaches the stability, we will possibly see the effectiveness and the goodness that the students and the country will get and bring a better future for our hopeful young generation in order to bring the country to the top of the world.

Content of the Book

In the Mathematics’s book for junior high school that writing by Mr.marsigit, the matter that served in the book to match with the curriculum now. I think all content from the books more resemble “LKS”(Lembar Kerja Siswa).

The examples in the book, we can’t find the Smart Solution that can make easier student to finished the other exercise.

In preface, not to get the translation in Indonesian and the biography from the writer. It will be better if to exist the solution from the exercise.

But I think this book is good and must be read by all the students, because the hand writing and the translation in Indonesian are very easy to understand by the student. And it simplify the students to presentation the matter for all people in Indonesian and English.

 eliminated

eliminated in linear and multilinear algebra, a process for finding the solutions of a system of simultaneous linear equations by first solving one of the equations for one variable (in terms of all the others) and then substituting this expression into the remaining equations. The result is a new system in which the number of equations and variables is one less than in the original system. The same procedure is applied to another variable and the process of reduction continued until there remains one equation, in which the only unknown quantity is the last variable. Solving this equation makes it possible to “back substitute” this value in an earlier equation that contains this variable and one other unknown in order to solve for another variable. This process is continued until all the original variables have been evaluated.

integral
In calculus, an antiderivative, primitive or indefinite integral[1] of a function f is a function F whose derivative is equal to f, i.e., F ′ = f. The process of solving for antiderivatives is antidifferentiation (or indefinite integration). Antiderivatives are related to definite integrals through the fundamental theorem of calculus: the definite integral of a function over an interval is equal to the difference between the values of an antiderivative evaluated at the endpoints of the interval.
The function F(x) = x3/3 is an antiderivative of f(x) = x2. As the derivative of a constant is zero, x2 will have an infinite number of antiderivatives; such as (x3/3) + 0, (x3 / 3) + 7, (x3 / 3) − 42, etc. Thus, the entire antiderivative family of x2 can be obtained by changing the value of C in F(x) = (x3 / 3) + C; where C is an arbitrary constant known as the constant of integration. Essentially, the graphs of antiderivatives of a given function are vertical translations of each other; each graph's location depending upon the value of C.

3 dimensional

Start with a point, drag it to get a line. Drag a line to get a square. Drag a square to get a cube. Any small translation of a cube has non-trivial overlap with the cube before translation, thus the process stops. This is why space is said to be 3-dimensional.

A straight angle

A straight angle changes the direction to point the opposite way.

An obtuse angle
An obtuse angle is one which is more than 90° but less than 180°

An acute angle

An acute angle is one which is less than 90°

Radian

A Radian is: the angle made by taking the radius and wrapping it along the edge of the circle.

A plane is a flat surface with no thickness. Our world has three dimensions, but there are only two dimensions on a plane. Examples: ength and height, or x and y.

The study system

The study system is a strategy to help you successfully pass the exams in your classes.

arithmetics

is the oldest and most elementary branch of mathematics, used by almost everyone, for tasks ranging from simple day-to-day counting to advanced science and business calculations. In common usage, the word refers to a branch of (or the forerunner of) mathematics which records elementary properties of certain operations on numbers

permutation

In several fields of mathematics the term permutation is used with different but closely related meanings. They all relate to the notion of mapping the elements of a set to other elements of the same set, i.e., exchanging (or "permuting") elements of a set.

triangle

A triangle is one of the basic shapes of geometry: a polygon with three corners or vertices and three sides or edges which are line segments. A triangle with vertices A, B, and C is denoted ABC.

square

A four-sided polygon with all sides the same length and all angles = 90 degrees

rectangle

a rectangle is a closed planar quadrilateral having four right angles.
The shape is like a square, but the sides are not necessarily all equal in length.

cube root

a cube root of a number, denoted or x1/3, is a number a such that a3 = x. All real numbers have exactly one real cube root and a pair of complex conjugate roots, and all nonzero complex numbers have three distinct complex cube roots. For example, the real cube root of 8 is 2, because 23 = 8.

absolute value

absolute value (or modulus) of a real number is its numerical value without regard to its sign. So, for example, 3 is the absolute value of both 3 and −3.

The absolute value of a number a is denoted by | a | .

2nd posting

I was read your article about elegi pangakuan orang tua berambut putih,
i like your opinion,,
i think it so deep,,
i dont know maybe i'm agree with your opinion,
but why in the first question on there are "Kini aku merasa sudah saatnya aku berterus terang"?why must 'now'? i think we must do it from long ago.
my question is 'are people always think like it in their life?in every time?'

and actually how i am???
maybe just we that can understand it,because every day, every time we always know everything that our body do.
but dont you think that other people in arround we can see and describe we more honest??,,
wallahu 'alam..

introduction to english

To become a good student, you need to get motivated! Motivation can come from seeing the situation of many poor children around the world who are not lucky enough to get a proper education. Keep that in mind when you don't want to attend class or study at home. Another reason to get motivated to study is that you will enjoy a better quality of life as an educated person. You can go to educational websites, like this, and surf them with interest. You must not force yourself to study, for this will make learning a chore and you'll not feel like even opening your books. You will have many academically good students in your courses. Try becoming friends with them, and you'll be immersed in an academic environment which will help you feel motivated!and the highest motivation is praying. this is very important and it can help you to get your spirit.

Make sure your behavior can support your pupose. One of the main things that decides a person's or child's future is their behavior. Learning textbooks and achieving 100% is not enough. People should think that you are the only all-rounder that has good manners. Obey your elders, don't bully your classmates at school. Remember, try imagining yourself in the other person's situation, and you'll know how much you hurt them with your actions. Say hello to your teachers and schoolmates when you see them, people will appreciate your friendliness and be friendly in return.Above all, try helping your friends in any situation and you'll be remembered as one of the best friends at school! Don't just do it for a good reputation, but for a good future and for yourself. You should also know that words from your mouth are enough to break relationships (or worse) so don't utter foul, discouraging, or insulting words.Don't take this as a lecture, but as a guideline! Behaviour should be first and then comes academics.

knowledge is the one of the important point if you will be a good student. the knowledge in this chapter are how to communicate mathematics in english. and the answer from this question are responsibility, independent learner.communicate mathematics in english is about how to talk,to write,to discuss,to translete, and to comment.one side mathematics and one side english are regular verb, irregular verb, and singular verb.

if the skill to write and to speak very good so we are the best person.

after we get 4 point above, we have to get experience.Apart from improving yourself, try spreading your skills among others. This is the section that provides you with all the things necessary in sharing your skills. Co-operation is helping each other out so everyone benefits, it's the opposite of competing, where everyone wants to win for themselves. Most learning is done with the help of others, so learning to cooperate is a valuable skill for anyone. Study partners are a wonderful tool. They save time and they help reinforce what you have learned. Divide a reading assignment in half. Study your section using any and all notetaking strategies you have(ie: venn diagrams, outlines, notecards, coloured highlighters etc) When you both have an understanding of your readings, take turns 'teaching/explaining' it to the other person. As you adjust your explanation to your partner, you will reinforce the concept for yourself. It works because as you think about how to explain the topic, you must understand it first!
